![]() A bolt 300 blackout suppressed with subsonic would be much more quite. The suppressed blackout AR's still have a loud sound from the action cycling. I would arguably feel more confident in killing coyotes with only my shotgun on a stand than having only my blackout. It is hard to give up the flatter trajectory and proven performance of my 223's, 6mm Creedmoor or 22-250. I was really wanting to shoot my 300 blackout suppressed at coyotes but now that I have the suppressor and load worked up I haven't taken a 300 blackout on a stand with me yet. My loads may or may not work well in your gun. The best thing to do is test your gun and suppressor to see what load is best for you. Hodgon's website does have some free load data you may want to check out. I'm not at home right now but would be happy to share CFE blackout powder data with you if you send me a PM. Adding barrel length or adding a suppressor turned a subsonic load into a supersonic load easier than I thought it would. One has a 10" barrel and the other a 16" barrel. They fly good too.I've worked up some subsonic loads for my two 300 blackouts. Try shooting a 110gr or 125gr bullet too. I only do an initial 25 yards for bore sighting a scope. Shoot them at 100 yards to see what groups best. ![]() I usually load 5 rounds at each powder weight. You may get a min one that shoots well, but won't cycle the action. You will find what you particular rifle likes. I hate it when rounds won't chamber due to unburned powder getting jammed up.įind a powder and do a ladder load. Only H110 and CFE BLK burned most complete. You want a powder with good case fill and complete burn. I have tried 5744, Reloader 7, H-4227 and H110 if my memory serves me well. Shooting AR15 with 16" 1:7 Anderson barrel with carbine length gas.Scope is a primary arms 1-6x24 shot off bags.ġ) Unburned powder is visible in the barrel and sometimes bits in the chamber can cause a round to not fully chamber unless it is cleaned out.Ģ) At 25 yards it shoots a tight cloverleaf pattern, but at 100 yards I can't get better than 4 inches. When I got my Hornady Only I got 500 150gr. I have a couple problems with my 300 blk load. I only use H110 for 300blk right now, although I do have the new CFEBLK to try when I get round to it. 308 and using them in 300blk with pretty good success. 310 bulk VMAX Hornady bullets meant for 7.62R down to. Just because this all brought it to mind, a buddy of mine was swaging the. I am aware that Hornady and Nosler both are working on 115-120-ish grain bullets just for the 300Blk which are longer than the VMAX etc but notsure they have made it to market as yet. The 125's will drop a deer sized animal DRT and I have used them for 3-gun as well. I have never bothered to load anything heavier for my gun. The Speer TNT is kind of my "go to" hunting/accuracy bullet and its long enough to be stable but light enough to be fast and develop energy. The shortest bullets I have used for the 3300blk have been the 115gr VMAx, and while they are accurate I do not like them because they are prone to feed issues. I also do not like to use really short bullets in the 300. ![]() 400-ish groups with 208gr match bullets and they barely were in the 1"range, and the factory loaded Blitx kings were not much better, so I put pretty much all hunting bullets- weith the exception of tipped bullets- in the "accuracy not expected zone. I tried Game Kings in my 300WSM that shoots. ![]() I have a CMMG barrel, but who knows who made it for them, I have had itat least 3 maybe 4 years. I don't care to see extractor wipes and I'd like to use my brass again. I chickened out on using Barnes data, I load 8 other calibers with their TSX/TTSX bullets, I know they like to run hot, but for my first OCW run I figured to stay sane. That's the accuracy node, so it's cool, but MV is 2419 with an SD of 18, which is well above the MV Hodgdon quotes. Whose barrel do you have? Edit to add: this chamber is REALLY tight, like my Weatherby Vanguard 270 WSM tight - I get FLAT primers but nothing else with 19.4 gr of H110 under my 110 gr TAC-X (Hodgdon's max load). I'll keep an eye on what goes on sale in light 308 bullets, but I'm not about to waste $$ on 147 gr pulls just to poke holes. Doing OCW at 200 yards for a 150 yard caliber doesn't seem reasonable, so 100 yards it was, but other than that it's wrung out. 66 MOA with 35 gr NTX (223 Rem) using 40 gr lead load data (per Nosler) so I was hoping I could get similar anomalous results with this DD barrel. I got away with a 9 twist Savage shooting. 8 twist is just really fast for such short bullets. More than adequate accuracy for 150 yard hunting, for sure, and the only hunting bullet I actually loaded up in volume (TAC-X) is very consistent, but it seems weird that with good to very good quality bullets I hit a wall at 1.5 MOA. ![]()
